Band 7+: some universities offer online courses as an alternative to class delivered on campus. Do you think this is a positive or negative development,

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this contemporary society, education plays an important role in shaping many aspects of our lives and online classes offer more benefits than an alternative to classes delivered on campus. It seems to me that everything has two opposite sides like a coin and this is same with this statement.

On the one hand, distance-learning programs create an unlimited academic environment where students obtain new knowledge or interact with others, wherever they are. Clearly, if learners meet with challenges in their learning process, they can look for related information through educational videos easily. For example, my teacher university has a YouTube channel to post lecture videos, which helps his learners receive knowledge effectively. In addition, online courses are cost-effective. Normally, teaching through a computer screen is cheaper than traditional lessons because teachers do not spend money on rental payments or staff.

On the other hand, studying face-to-face is extremely useful because it allows people to communicate directly and develop essential social skills. When someone encounters difficulties in lectures, they can immediately ask the mentors to resolve the issue quickly. Additionally, students can stay connected with friends and participate in extracurricular activities. For example, when I collaborate with my classmates on research projects, we can easily discuss and share ideas to come up with the best solutions. As a result, offline learning not only makes students more confident in front of crowds but also increases their learning efficiency.

In conclusion, the outstanding phenomenon mentioned above has outlined numerous advantages and disadvantages of online learning methods. As far as I am concerned, I think that both methods have their own strengths, and learners should choose the suitable method to enhance their educational experience.
