The peaceful lifestyle and clean environment of the countryside have attracted people who live in small villages. It can be seen all around the world that rural people are moving to urban areas across many countries. I firmly believe this is a positive development.
On the other hand, this trend also has several negative effects. If all individuals migrate from rural areas and move to the city side, then conceivably, loss of labour can be seen in the farming and agriculture sector. Moreover, major cities will become overcrowded in many areas, due to which it not only directly leads to a shortage of housing accommodation but also traffic congestion problems might arise on the roads.
The primary factor to consider is that rural inhabitants shifting to cities opens opportunities for those who want to work in companies, such as being able to get employed, as well as there are good chances that they will experience improvements in their living standards through earning a better income. Furthermore, in many villages, younger generations are always drawn towards metropolitan cities; therefore, by living in those areas, they can achieve better education and advanced health care facilities. In addition to this, individuals can get access to better public amenities. For instance, in a well-developed city known as Bombay, people can be seen migrating with the aim of getting employed and accessing better life opportunities.
In line with the views presented above, it can be concluded that although rural-to-urbanisation causes farming deficits and housing shortages. I believe it remains a positive trend. For those who must work outside rural areas, city life provides better opportunities.
