In the contemporary era, there has been a prevalent phenomenon of crime increase in some nations. As a response to this tendency, only more police allocation on streets is needed to mitigate. This essay aims to disagree with this notion due to having various ways to tackle it.
On the one hand, some advocate that streets need only police to avoid the increasing crime rates. Police can observe and immediately catch deviant behaviors when offenders appear, thereby contributing to decreasing this trend and deterring law-breaking intention from others locally. For this reason, citizens may feel safe as they possess protection from the police.
However, I firmly believe that this solution is unable to cover all cases emerging in the community due to criminals having various strategies to attain their goals. Hence, it is necessary to erect other methods. It is explicit that apart from this way, there are a wide range of options to solve these pressing problems such as trials of courts should be broadcasted on social media and TV widely to warn others about consequences of delinquency. In this way, the public’s awareness is highly raised of how strictly they are punished in case of doing illegal behaviors, which effectively prevents the root of crimes in the community, resulting in the reduction of rates.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly indicate that although the advent of police on the streets may influence positively on the crime rates in some countries, there are plenty of more effective choices to hinder criminals from breaking laws.
