It is argued that instead of wasting money on space, authorities should invest money to enhance people’s lives as a whole. I completely agree with the idea that governments should spend money to elevate the conditions of individuals who live on Earth.
There are a number of reasons why I believe that human lives deserve more financial allocation than space research. One possible reason is that nowadays people are facing a variety of problems. In less developed countries such as Bangladesh and India, some citizens face shortages of food, medical facilities, and shelter. Because of these factors, a considerable number of people are leading a backward life. Many developed nations often spend an excessive amount of money on the space sector. Instead of wasting the money, they can use it to provide food and construct housing for marginalised communities. As a result, the living standards of many people will improve.
Another reason is that pollution has become a massive challenge. Unfortunately, many businesses are responsible for many types of pollution such as carbon emissions, air and marine pollution. For example, many factories are situated on riversides and seashores. The factory workers often dump industrial waste into water. Subsequently, marine creatures such as fish consume the waste, which has detrimental consequences for their health. Authorities from all over the world should work in this area collectively. They can spend money on better research facilities to identify core reasons and provide solutions. Therefore, these measures may alleviate pollution to some degree.
In conclusion, considering the factors discussed above, authorities should allocate more funding to the public domain, which will play an indispensable role in improving their conditions. This is why I firmly believe that space research is a waste of money and resources should be used to address people’s difficulties.
