Some people believe that it is need of the hour to explore space and if life can grow there.
But is it necessary to do so while we are having so many crises already on Earth that needs to be tackled. My opinion aligns with not investing in it.
Firstly, the money spent on space should be used on Earth for the betterment of people living a life here. It is much needed. For example, we are having environmental crisis here and people are not educated enough on this topic to take it seriously. Hence these problems are growing rapidly.
Secondly, people are dying daily because of the lack of better facilities in terms of healthcare. This is the concern that should be discussed on higher levels rather than exploring the space. If we have that much budget it should handle the most important aspects of human life here first.
On the contrary, if anything goes wrong, we will have to migrate to any other planet and for that purpose, research is necessary to survive there but only after doing better here in every aspect, if the budget allows then it should be used in exploring the space for whatever purpose whether out if curiosity or in terms for finding a place to survive.
To conclude my opinion, priorities should be set right and key issues which we are facing here should be our first concern rather than finding the ways to sustain life there as it would not be needed in the first place if we manage everything in our home planet.
