In recent years, space travel has gained widespread attention in our society. There is an increasing number of individuals who argue that space tourism could be a prevalent trend and bring some benefits for humans in the foreseeable future. This essay aims to explore the benefits and drawbacks of this development.
On the one hand, some opponents hold the belief that traveling to outer space could pose some deleterious impacts on our society. The majority of people may have a common thought that it is too extravagant and insecure for adventure tourism that has potential risky hazards for individuals’ lives such as space travel or marine exploration. Another disadvantage of space travel is the threat of man-made pollution to other planets’ environments. It is apparent that there are various catastrophic consequences stemming from human activities that pose an adverse effect on the Earth at present. Hence, these people are concerned that planets in our solar system would also be badly affected if there is a presence of humans in outer space.
On the other hand, I hold the view that space-based tourism is beneficial for our lives. Chief among these is this trend tends to promote a national economy. To be more precise, traveling outer space generally attracts numerous curious visitors which can be a popular voyage in the tourism sector, potentially generating lucrative returns for many tourism organizations and businesses. Moreover, implementing this novel tourism will create many employment opportunities among job seekers and help them have a sustainable income that sustain their livelihoods, contributing significantly to the course of countries and enhancing the quality of life of individuals.
In conclusion, although there are several demerits pertaining to this phenomenon, I contend that space travel is conducive to our lives, invigorating the national economy and creating more jobs for many people, thereby improving their standards of living.
