The composition of salaried employees in the Indian economy has declined significantly during the pandemic period and now points to revival, according to a PLFS report; such is stated in the article by Dr. Rumki Majumdar of the Deloitte Global Economic Research Centre.
Trivandrum, being the capital city of Kerala, requires an extensive study of salaried employees to that extent to acquire a better understanding. Even the Indian Government, understanding the importance of the income of salaried employees, has allowed an increased standard deduction of $75,000 from a previous deduction of $50,000 in the budget of 2024.
Even though there are numerous studies in the field of the income of salaried employees, proper awareness has not been circulated to the intended parties. The aim of this study is to investigate the budgeting, saving, and spending habits of salaried employees, their awareness of various financial tools and products, and to provide insight to enhance financial resilience for the salaried employees of Trivandrum.
