Nowadays, scientists argue that university students should completely stop studying during their holidays. Is it really important for students’ well-being during a university year? I strongly agree that taking your mind off studying is significant for students’ mental and physical health. This is mainly because it helps to distract from anxiety and recharge their batteries.
Firstly, in modern society, many students feel stressed and anxious during their lessons. Also, they always care about their exams and grades. Because most of these students don’t rest and relax during their holidays, they are always concerned about their university lessons. Consequently, these emotions have a significant impact on their mental health. For example, according to this psychotherapist, taking a break from studying and enjoying a holiday can help counteract this effect, minimising the chances of burning out or experiencing health problems related to stress. As a result, taking a break from studying during holidays helps stress levels drop during lessons.
The second reason is that quality rest and relaxation help to recharge students’ knowledge. Furthermore, students should make conscious choices about their holidays. For instance, scientific literature shows that holidays have a positive effect on our well-being. Also, there is no denying that taking a break from studying has a big impact on our grades. For example, when I was preparing for my exams in school, I always spent holidays in nature. Then, it was beneficial for refreshing my mind from a lot of information. In addition, I believe that quality rest has a significant influence on our knowledge.
In conclusion, just relaxing and reflecting during holidays is better than studying all the time. Our brain takes in a lot of information during lessons, so it is beneficial to get distracted during holidays.
