Band 4+: Studies suggest that many teenagers these days prefer socialising online to meeting one another in person. Why do you think this is the case? What measures could be taken to encourage teenagers to spend more time meeting one another in person?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is true that most youths are using social media rather than meeting face to face in recent years. There are a variety of possible reasons for this, but steps can definitely be taken to tackle this problem.

In my opinion, three main factors are to blame for the way young people make contact with others online nowadays. Firstly, the cafes where people want to drink or eat something during the conservation are expensive. Many teenagers have not a job to earn money because of this they choose social networks for a communication. Secondly, when people see each others at first time, it can be dangerous for them because they do not know their’s true opinions or desires. Finally, anxiety of being social in real life is one of the reason to spend time on the internet that makes relationships more complex.

Young people behaviour can certainly be improved. I believe that the change must start with cafes, where need to be cheaper that it is important to make they comfortable. When the prices decrease, teenagers will feel more relaxed. Also, parents could play an important role in their’s children lives, and they shold pay more attention when adolescent made a new friend from online world. At the same time, some practices to stay calm like breathe exercise, it can be helpful for their anxiety.

In conclusion, socializing through social media is preferred more than one on one socializing, however, inexpensive areas, reliable people and feeling peaceful will make it easier.
