In the modern era, students now have a considerable amount of paths to education, and studying abroad is one of them. It has become popular for students to follow. From my perspective, it offers significant advantages to international students because they can discover new things and become more independent.
First of all, studying abroad allows students to study while exploring various cultures. They can learn more about local customs, traditional buildings, communicating with people from different backgrounds, etc. For instance, a Vietnamese student studying in Japan may improve their Japanese by talking to local students every day, even with international students who have learned Japanese for convenience; or look up the traditional Kimono clothes when stumbling across one. As a result, studying abroad helps students develop communication skills, as well as appreciate the culture they studied in.
Furthermore, it also lets students live independently. Because they step out of their comfort zone, and attend to another country to study, time management and solving everyday problems become necessary for students without relying too much on their parents. In addition, they have to constantly adapt to the new environment. But for these reasons, students can learn how to face up to the difficulties and develop soft skills that support their everyday lives. However, studying abroad can be tough because of the high cost, culture shock, or just struggling to live with English alone. Despite these challenges, I still believe that it helps students learn more than just studying alone.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that studying abroad is a great opportunity for international students. It allows them to explore new cultures, improve their communication skills, and soft skills needed to live more independently.
