It might be true that sports celebrities are getting a lump sum of money than people in any other profession. Contrastingly, few of the sportsmen are being devoted to the game instead of getting a higher salary. We can discuss these both views.
To begin with, some successful sports professionals are in the range of high paid player due to their fame and the reach among their fans. So, they demand to get greater revenues or even more than their usual pay. Advertising companies are one of the reasons to promote players into an advanced level. They make the players as a trademark for their product and tends to generate income through promotion of the product. As a real-life scenario some sports professionals are insisted to pay amount for the work they’ve done. Take for an example “Sachin Tendulkar” who is referred to as ‘greatest cricketer of all time’ and scored around 22,000 runs for his team have done many ads campaign. He is the brand ambassador for MRF cricket bats and ‘Boost’ Energy drinks. He is a pro in his profession and also got paid via advertisements.
Some may justify this as their own wish, and they can do whatever they want. In contrast this may have a chance of misleading players career and can be able to change from being a sportsperson to advertising products. There are a greater number of players with talents, and they need money for their recognition as well as dedication to become successful. The pressure from media is intense and there’s little privacy out of their spotlight.
so, as a whole, i think that amount of money they make is larger than movie stars. But, at the same time our society indicates more value on sports than on more essential professions and achievements.
