In the 21st century, which is a developed technologies’ era, films and games can be accessed easily with or without an internet connection at any time. Due to the economic accessibility of these entertainments, we may unintentionally waste several hours, leading to procrastination in completing our daily tasks. However, I believe that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks, as it provides greater convenience for the public.
The first and foremost advantage of having access to films and games is their affordability. Whether we are connected to the internet or not, we can watch films and play games endlessly at any time. Low-cost or free access allows us to enjoy them without worrying about our financial budget. Since it is cheaper compared to buying tickets, going to the cinema, and entering game clubs, we can purchase a paid monthly or even yearly subscription to apps or websites that offer unlimited access to films, such as Prime Video and Netflix, and download as many games as we want, anytime and anywhere.
These days, most people, especially youngsters, fall victim to watching a variety of movies and playing games for several hours each day. Even then, they do not notice how harmful it is or are not able to supervise themselves about limiting their screen time. The more movies are watched, the more intriguing they become, leading them to procrastinate on daily accomplishments. The different genres, reputations, and popularity, along with the modernity of films and games, are primary factors which engage and attract individuals of all ages, making it difficult to concentrate on a particular task. Therefore, some people try to multitask, which means doing several activities simultaneously. Initially, it may seem beneficial and manageable. However, multitasking reduces productivity, manifesting its consequences over time.
To conclude, I should mention that everything is a double-edged sword, meaning it has both pros and cons. Its consequences and outcomes depend on how we utilize it and in what way. If we use it properly, it can be beneficial only.
