In today’s modernized world, many individuals share their personal details on social media, such as phone numbers and credit card details. This is widely used when they want to deal with online banks. Although it seems to be trustful, there are many scammers who can immediately make you bankrupt. From my perspective, I believe that it is potentially risky to put your personal information into every website. I will show how it can be dangerous and how it can be trustful in some ways by giving some examples and their consequences.
On one hand, it has made our lives more time-efficient. In the past, many people had to go to physical banks in order to pay taxes, or write letters to their friends that would be received after some weeks. However, nowadays, we can do it all via virtual banks or social media within a few minutes at home rather than traveling on the road. For example, I used to pay bills at work when I was very busy. As a consequence, by sharing our personal information with many websites, we can easily finish paying bills within a minute.
On the other hand, as technology is developing, cyberbullying is also widespread. We should be careful when we are choosing online banking apps. Scammers can immediately bankrupt you as soon as you put in your credit card number and its password. They can also take your card details via social media by sending you a file and saying, “Oh, is this your photo?”, which makes you scared so that you quickly open the file and lose all your money.
In conclusion, despite the fact that internet networking has made our lives easier, we should be careful about where we are putting our personal data, and avoid opening unknown files from strangers.
