It is indeed becoming common for the transportation of goods and people is now one of the biggest sources of pollution around the world. Some people think that the governments are responsible for solving this problem, while others think that it is the responsibility of the individuals.
There are several factors that make government responsible for transporting products and people that cause pollution. First and foremost, old vehicle can cause increase the air pollution so the government should use eco-friendly transport systems, such as electric car, and also use the public transport. For example, is some developed city, many people use the public transport in order to reduce carbon emission. Secondly, factories are one of the main causes of air pollution. The government should encourage factories to use filters. For instance, in Switzerland, almost all factories use the filters so this country ranks first in terms of air quality.
On the other hand, some argue that individuals should take more responsibility. Personal choice, such us using public transport instead of private cars, walking or cycling for short distance, and choosing electric vehicle, can significantly reduce pollution. Moreover, if each person makes environmentally conscious decisions, the collective effect can be powerful. For example, the Japanese people declare a car-free day once a month, on that day they rely only on public transportation.
In conclusion, some think that the governments are responsible to tackling this issue, while others believe that this is the responsibility of the individuals. I reckon that both governments and individuals must share responsibility.
