The reason is because they will need more time to study the subjects they like or useful skills, which improves their career prospects. Secondly, history is the subject that covers a long period of time and contains a lot of information. As a result, learners may feel bored of learning history and find it hard to memorize well.
On the other hand, I believe that studying history plays an important role in understanding the present. The first reason is that history teaches us to avoid making or repeating past mistakes. For example, after World War II, many countries tried to keep peace, avoid the war and focus on their economy. Moreover, studying about the past helps us understand our culture and where we came from. When we understand the traditions, we will feel proud about the country we are living in and keep them for the future. Furthermore, history helps us understand how societies develop and how current events are influenced by past decisions, which can guide us in making better choices today.
