It is often argued that due to the current workload, young people are subject to stress. I completely agree with this view, as unrealistic expectations from parents and teachers are coupled with an enormous amount of academic material in the school curriculum.
First and foremost, currently one of the reason for student’s stress is high demands by school and relatives. Especially, when adolescents can’t release it due to the lack of mental or physical abilities. If teenagers didn’t hear from everyone that they must have high academic achievement they would experience less anxious. For example, some adolescents are so afraid of their parents’ anger, that exam could be the reason for insomnia or an unsatisfied band can bring these teenagers to panic attack or another problems with mental health. As a result, a great deal of stress falls on students’ shoulders.
Furthermore, stress is a reason for an amount of academic material, which every student receives. School’s curriculum includes a wide range of subjects, for each one of them adolescents must be prepared, so they have to learn and review information every day. For example, common student’s timetable contains at least seven lessons, assignments for each of them, extra lessons with tutor and household chores. Therefore, teenagers don’t have enough spare time, but at the same time they face stress every day in their lives.
In conclusion, the school’s curriculumn makes adolescents subject to stress and anxious. It happens because of unrealistic relatives’ and teachers’ expectations as well as amount of study material.
