In today’s globalized world, the acquisition of foreign languages, especially English, plays a significant role for personal, economic, cultural growth. Some people tend to agree, that learning and using English as a language has its own disadvantages. However, I believe, that it has more advantage priorities than its shortcomings.
Nowadays, the factor that, many countries in the world started to learn English and fast spread among different countries, especially in Asian countries, has become a trend. As in the contemporary world, English language is considered as a key to economic, political, cultural, and personal success. However, in many countries, the process of learning English may differ from each-other, which has significant consequences, like: accent, wrong vocabulary and grammar range, speaking fluency and etc. There is no steady rule on the right acquisition of English, so every country may set their own rules for learning the language. However, the result could be a little more diverse than we expected. For example: language may lose its own value, basic form, ancient vocabulary and grammar, which is considered a serious issue for all English – spoken countries.
On the other hand, there have developed new technologies and such kinds of digital devices, which allow people from different countries, to learn how to learn English, without losing its value and basic form. For example, learning apps, international official learning sites, online libraries and other interesting and engaging tools are the main supportive factors for learning English. Substantiating this viewpoint, the benefits of learning English could be wider, than everybody expected. For instance: being able to gain experience in foreign countries, taking the international IELTS test and applying for a university or job, which gives very great opportunities in the development of society.
To sum up my viewpoint, I agree that acquisition of English gives more and more positive chances to live and grow in the modern era, rather than disadvantages.
