Many people argue that the spread of English as a global language will bring more benefits than drawbacks. I totally believe that English can provide more opportunities and career growth, although it can bring little risks for culture of other countries.
On the one hand, global use of English language can help people to have more opportunities both in life and work. For instance, nowadays English can give some beneficial habits such as studying in famous university and communicating with people. For example, now students after finishing school can easily go to studying to another country because they can speak in English very well and can communicate with other people without difficulties. Moreover, some companies want to have employees who can participate in international conference, in this situation the abilities such as speaking in English and having experience very necessary. If you know English very well you can access more chances and opportunities to have a good job. Therefore, English language and the ability such as speaking and writing in this language will continue to outweigh its disadvantages.
On the other hand, nowadays, young generation more prefer to speak and learn English before than their native language. For instance, in today’s world, parents know that English can provide more opportunities and they want first of all teach to their children English not their first language. This situations will cause some problems such as forgetting own language and tradition, in the end the culture of that country will distracted and replaced by new trends and languages. However, not only does English but also other factors can let to this issue, it is wrong if we solely make guilty the language because language it is only key which can open global opportunities. Therefore, despite this risks and issues English can provide more opportunities and help students to be open-minded.
In conclusion, while globalization of English language can cause some risks, I strongly agree that the advantages which this language can provide, such as global opportunities and career growth outweigh the drawbacks.
