The bar chart illustrates ten different countries (China, US, Russia, Japan, India, Canada, France, Brazil, Germany and Korea Republic) that generated and utilised the highest amount of electricity in the year 2014. Units for electricity are measured in billion kWh.
Overall, it is seen that China is responsible for the making as well as usage of the largest amount of energy in the given year whereas Korea Republic accounted for the least energy created and consumed. It is also seen that the electricity output was greater than that of intake in all the countries listed except Germany.
In the given year, the Chinese created 5398 billion kWh of electricity of which 5322 billion kWh was consumed resulting in a net energy production of around 75 billion kWh, which was almost the same net energy production as that of Japan. Likewise, the net energy generated by Canada and France were also similar which was around 100 billion kWh.
The US was responsible for generating 4099 billion kWh of energy which was nearly 4 times as that produced by Russia, consequently resulting in Americans being ranked 2nd in the list of countries. India ranked 5th in the list with 871 billion kWh of energy and consuming 698.8 billion kWh.
Although, Germans and Brazilians produced around 530 billion kWh of energy, the utilisation was more in Germany with 582.5 billion kWh being consumed. Korea Republic did last in the ranking with just 485.1 billion kWh produced out of which 449.5 billion kWh was used up.
