There were much more men than women in management, production and tradesperson roles. For example, management roles are three times more likely to be occupied by men at 600,000 employed. Although the gap was largest in the trades jobs with men ten times more likely to doing this type of work. There was less of a difference for labourers and semi professionals but there were still considerabley more men than women.
The only sectors which there were more women than men were in those of semi-professionals and labourers with 150,000 more women in each. However, when looking at the figures you can see that there were still a high number of men in these positions. Overall, we can see that there are more men than women in nearly every sector and even those with a female majority figures were close. This means that men make up more of the Australian workforce than women.
