The bar graph compares the proportion of Australian Man and woman in distinct age groups, participated in regular physical activity in 2010.
Overall, in the beginning of the period, Male was the most significant number of young adults contested in physical activities compared to young teens in women. Both the men and women have fluctuations over the given period; however, Women has experienced a gradual hike at the end of the period.
Initially, Male has showed interest in participating with an age group of 15 to 24 then women, about 55 thousand and 48 thousand respectively. And next age group of 25 to 34 and 35 to 44 experienced a steady dip, around 42 thousand and 39 thousand consecutively. In addition to this, again the upward trend has increased the participates 45 to 54 and 55 to 64, around 42 thousand and 45 thousand in orderly. At the end of period, the senior citizens (65 plus) men has able to part in physical activities, above 47 thousand.
On the other hand, Women was showed low participation at the beginning of young age (15 to 24), nearly 4 thousand. From the middle age group (25 to 34, 35 to 44, and 45 to 54) there was gradual upward trend, approximately 49, 53, and 52 thousand respectively. In contrast, further age group of 54 to 64 was stagnant (52 thousand), while there was a 5 percentage decrease (52 thousand) of physical activity in seniors’ women (65 and more).
