Band 6+: the best way to reduce crime is to educate people in prison so they can get a job when they leave. To what extent do you agree or disagree

Educating prisoners is believed to be the major key for minimizing crime rate and supplying them with jobs in their afterlfe. I would agree with this idea, however education can be key for preventing crime too. In following paragraphs these ideas will be discussed sequencely.

Education is key for many problems existing in a society and crime is not an exception in this list. Teaching specific skills at prison to offenders, undoubtedly, useful in their continious life, but they should be taught according to their own interests, as in other cases they might get demotivated twice. Moreover, just making prisoners to read a book every day at certain pages can change their mindset. there are some countries where reading any kind of book daily is compulsory in prisons and it has benefits on prisoners’ overall well-being and it has been prooved to be useful to implement in other jails too.

Despite those benefits, it is more beneficial to use education to prevent crime by teaching its drawbacks from early ages of children, not in prison. Governments should take some measures such as organizing meetings with people contributing to enhance children’s well-being in a positive way. Explaining laws, punishments and causes of offence can also work for reducing crime rate. Children should be taught in a way that makes them to be afraid of commiting crime. In conclusion, education should serve firstly as a preventor from crimes, although in jail it is the best way to make shifts in behaviour of offenders

In some parts of the world, people buy far too many clothes. What are the reasons for this? How can people be persuaded to reduce the number of clothes they buy?

Although some people around the world purchase an excessive amount of clothes, this is primarily because pervasive media hype and cheap manufacturing attract consumers. From my perspective, a highly practical approach to tackle this issue is through sustainable consumption campaigns. The primary drivers of this overconsumption are aggressive brand advertising and the affordability of fast […]

some say that because many people are living much longer, the age at which people retire from work should be raised considerably. To what extent do you agree or disagree

It is often said that, since a large number of people are living longer, the age at which people step down from their job should be raised considerably. Personally I completely disagree with this statement because, elderly people need to have a rest after a long period of their career. Firstly, old residents deserve to […]

Obesity is becoming a serious health problem in many parts of the world.
