Nowadays, shopping is becoming a habit of people. The main factor of this trend was supposed on the age group. I slightly disagree with this view because other influences were also significant reflects the shopping habits.
In modern life, items are often divided by age group for consumption. For instance, young people are shopping based on trends instead of goods quality. By contrast, the adults’s shopping habits develop on product reliability and good reviews. From that point, the habit of shopping in the age group was growing.
Although age group factors also create shopping habits, there are many other influencing factors in the consumption of merchandise. Habits formation also comes from income and gender. Firstly, the greater the income, the higher the consumer demand. For example, a high-salary person usually has a high level of lifestyle, while lower-income people will have to spend more economically. Secondly, gender is also a factor in shopping habits, women and men are different in shopping desires. Women usually focus on trendy fashion and cosmetics, while men are more interested in technology. Therefore, people’s shopping habits also are developed by other factors.
In conclusion, the age group is not only a factor that affects shopping behavior but also many factors are considered to influence shopping habits such as economic factors and gender.
