Every year, residents from all over the world have to pay taxes to their home nations or states. While the majority of them take responsibility, many people oppose it and would like to keep all of their earnings. In my opinion, I believe that it is essential for everyone to pay taxes.
First and foremost, taxes are used to support public services such as education, hospitals, and government facilities. These services enhance the well-being and growth of society. For instance, in many countries, students who attend government educational institutions are not required to pay for their studies. Besides, paths and roadways are renovated annually to satisfy the travel demands of locals. Furthermore, the state needs to have a tax reserve to prevent bad situations that may occur in the future. For example, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the economy was in recession, and medical equipment was not enough to meet all treatment cases. That’s when the government must use the available money to buy and import drugs and medical equipment from other countries.
Moreover, this sum of money can be utilized to rebalance wealth. In other words, by providing social welfare services, subsidies, and aid for those in need, governments can reduce disparities in the economy while promoting disadvantaged populations. This also helps to reduce social crimes such as robbery and theft. In addition, prisons where criminals who are dangerous to society are detained also need a large amount of money to maintain and expand. Without taxes, would anyone be willing to spend money to maintain prisons? And what would happen if the place where criminals were kept no longer existed?
In conclusion, I believe that individuals should pay their annual taxes to the government. The fee is not too expensive, but it provides people with several rights and benefits. Once the financial flow is disbursed appropriately, mankind’s standard of living will improve significantly.
