In the contemporary era, the issue of homelessness is increasing at a rapid pace. A plethora of people believe that giving monetary help to these individuals is the best option, while others condemn this opinion. This essay will discuss both schools of thought and provide a suitable conclusion.
On the one hand, undoubtedly giving money to the needy would help them. By using that money, they can buy themselves all their basic necessities, such as food, clothing, and shelter. They may also save those funds for their future needs. By providing monetary support, one can also protect them from various climatic conditions. For instance, they would easily buy themselves blankets, shelter, and warm clothes in the shivering cold. Due to a lack of help, these homeless people could even die due to extreme weather conditions.
On the other hand, there are a few consequences of doing the same. This way, the homeless people will start depending on others for help instead of making efforts on their own. Alternatively, the government and other organizations should provide the needy ones with jobs. By having a permanent source of income, they will become more responsible toward managing their funds. Furthermore, this will instill the ability to save and manage their money. Moreover, it is not feasible for the government to provide monetary assistance to every homeless person.
In conclusion, I would say that, although giving money to the needy is a good concept, providing them with job opportunities is the best intention and has ample benefits.
