Nowadays, our environment is becoming unlivable due to several factors, and it is argued that the main cause for that is overpopulation. I completely agree with the opinion, and in the following essay, the reasons will be highlighted with examples.
To begin with, It is obvious that there are so many threats to the environment by overpopulation. The principal one is resource depletion at all. This is because it causes many unpleasent outcomes like the demand for freshwater, lands as well as fossil fuels. Firstly, as the population grows, many regions start to face water scarity, which leads people to look for drinkable water or water for agriculture and industrial use. Moreover, due to resource exhaustion, the request for lands is increasing significantly, and more areas are being cleared for housing and agriculture, leading to deforestation. Also, higher energy demands result in greater extraction and use of fossil fuels, contributing to resource depletion and environmental damage. Because of the cause, I concur with the point of view.
Turning to the second argument, the remaining view also causes waste to increase and pollution. Population growth leads to an increase in the amount of garbage, which most of them are unavoidable for a long time such as pampers, plastic bottles, packages, and so on. Also, such trash in the water has resulted in water pollution. Additionally, different types of vehicles, especially personal cars and industrial activities have been decreasing air quality, causing air pollution. For that reason, I am in agreement with the perspective.
In conclusion, actions done by people mostly harm the environment, and the damage increases, particularly when there are so many people in the world.
