Recently driving has become one of the essentials in our daily lives, and every person should own a car to accomplish his tasks and duties. Due to that, large cities are expecting traffic congestion on their roads, which highlights the importance of focusing on this issue. Two main effects that governments should focus on in terms of traffic congestion are the increased emissions that would harm the environment and lateness.
One major effect of traffic congestion is the increase in emissions. Since transportation emissions are detrimental to our planet, society must address their consequences. Imagine every family owning at least two cars, and in one city there are approximately 400 families, this is quite a huge number which obviously will cause carbon pollution and greenhouse gas emissions which eventually impact our environment. In other words, traffic congestion may lead to a variety of emissions that may cause pollution; therefore, authorities need to be careful about it.
Lateness is another primary effect of traffic congestion in large cities. When an employee or even an employer wants to go to work, traffic jams would cause him to be late which may result in a cut in his salary by the manager. Furthermore, traffic congestion not only affects workers but also affects doctors and nurses who are in a hurry to save the patients from dying in an ambulance car. As a result, traffic jams also contribute to various consequences in terms of lateness.
