Overall, the highest concentration of sodium is found in dinner, which was followed by saturated fat. However, the highest amount of sugar was consumed mostly in snacks.
In terms of sodium, the percentage of it in dinner was approximately at 43%, followed by lunch with 29%. Breakfast and snacks share similar proportions and together were roughly one-third of the total eating. Correspondingly, the most consumed was allocated in dinner with 37%, while that pf breakfast only 16%. Turning to the two remaining meals, they were about 26% and 21% for lunch and snacks, respectively. Lastly, as for added sugar, 42% of consumption was devoted to refreshments, while the percentage of dinner was approximately half as high. There is little difference between the sugars in lunch and breakfast, accounting for 19% whereas the latter was lower by a margin of 3%.
All in all, the diagrams show that every typical consumed in the USA contains a percentage of at least 14% of nutrients that can be adverse if eaten unnecessarily high.
