The continued rise in the world’s population is considered a serious problem that each country must solve. However, for other countries with low birth rates, population does not happen to be a big issue. So, people need to see this issue from two different points of view.
In China, the population has reached 1 billion, which can impact society, the economy, and the environment. A high population is able to make people face tough competition among each other to get a proper life. Crime will also increase due to a lack of job vacancies caused by the complexities in populated country.
On the other hand, Japan is now struggling with low birth rates. The low demographic bonus can slow its improvement in all different areas, including education, manufacturing, technology, etc. All these threats make the Japanese government find a way out, such as opening citizenship to people all over the world. By opening citizenship to foreigners, Japanese government tries to increase its citizens to a proper number.
However, we cannot be blind to see that high birth rates contribute a lot to population. In some developing countries such as in Africa and Asia, the cultures believe that more children more pride. Some believe that more children more blessings without thinking of the long-term consequences in the future.
Based on my perspective, the continued rise of the world’s population cannot be considered a global threat or issue, since many countries have different issues regarding population. Some of them are struggling because of the high population and birth rate, while others are facing the opposite issue—low population. Thus, World Health Organization has tried to prevent this global issue by giving education to some developing countries to control the birth rates in order to stop rapid population rise.
