There is an ongoing debate regarding education that children received. A group of individuals believe that receiving education from family is more essential than education from education institution. I personally, do not agree with that opinion since teacher and family have the same responsibility in terms of education. In this essay I will explain according to different kind of skills that teacher and parent play a vital role to educate their children.
In terms of cognitive skills, teachers explain more detail every subject according to curriculum in specific grade of school. They will provide a grounded theory to make sure that children understand clearly. When children come back at home, parents have responsibility to teach their children in practical way in daily activities. For example, children are thought about math, particularly calculation. They are asked by a teacher to write down some numbers and make a calculation. Subsequently, at home, parents can teach their children by asking them calculate spoons and forks at kitchen. By doing this, children will more understand how to calculate with support from their parent at home.
In terms of affective skills, teacher teach how to behave properly to the others. For example, students are thought to say “hello” and “how are you” for greetings at school. Furthermore, parents will ask their children to practice what they have learned at school. In this regard, the role of parents is to make sure that their children use their knowledge into practice and behavior. By doing this, children will more remember what they have learned and become their habit.
To sum up, parents and teachers have a essential role in children education. The collaboration of both will improve the knowledge and skills of children that will be good for their future.
