The initiative by the government for building a university in my town is a great one. However, it will bring some benefits and drawbacks that must be considered. This essay will focus on the topic with my own opinions and suggestions.
Education is considered to be an essential element in the growth of a society, by enabling locals to gain knowledge and persuade better career opportunities. The town will get renowned all over the country for delivering highly skilled professionals, with a potential to serve the nation after the completion of this project. Moreover, this will bring potential business opportunities for the general public, like new restaurants, hotels, and book shops. etc. For instance, the development of an engineering university in Narowal has completely changed the dimensions of the city within 12 years for new brands.
Contrarily, it can bring a few adverse effects towards society, like students from different origins may not fit well in the climate and culture. Students may get involved in many negative trends, resulting in a poor reputation of the region. Moreover, the government will have to suffer a financial deficit to complete the development. Furthermore, during construction people will have to suffer traffic jams, poor drainage, and noise etc.
I think, building a university of less renowned regions like mine will bring financial gains and create jobs for nearby people, bring a positive atmosphere, and educational improvements, but we may have to be aware of the drawbacks associated during and after the construction.
In conclusion, universities bring many valuable advantages which can enhance the lifestyle of people, however its negative effects can’t be ignored.
