In contemporary society, in light of the relentless pursuit of a better living environment, governments are diverting their budgets into exploring other planets. A school of thought holds that the government is spending excessively on these fields and money should be spent on addressing the problem of the public.While this view appears to be reasonable in some degrees, I suppose that we should strike a balance between the mentioned perspectives.
On the one hand, there are many rationales to explain why a segment of the population advocates the idea that the budget should be allocated into improving life quality. First and foremost, some people are still satisfied with their current lives, therefore, there is no point in spending an exorbitant amount of money into discovering outer spaces.Moreover, due to the population explosion, many problems are emerging with larger quantities, namely: discrimination, gender inequality, the increasing poverty and criminal rates.Secondly, our living environment is being threatened with exhaust fumes discharged from several factories and public transportation.Thus, it is obvious that governments need to take immediate solutions and solve the problems in advance, such as organizing more environmental protecting campaigns as well as raising public awareness. These are powerful testaments for the aforementioned idea.
On the other hand, it would be imprudent to neglect the importance of space exploration. Firstly, by spending money into this field, governments can contribute to further research as well as having a chance to solve the mysteries in outer space. Secondly, astronomers can actually have a chance to find lives on other planets as well as discovering extraterrestrial things, therefore, we can travel to these planets if undesirable prospects happen in the future. Additionally, by traveling to these planets, governments can reduce the problem of overpopulation and traffic congestion, directly contributing to people’s lives.
In conclusion, while maintaining the exploration of outer spaces, governments should also address problems of the public.
