It is clear that fast food has a great position in food industry and plays an important role in our daily lives. Nowadays, how fast food affects us has been a controversial topic due to its potential risk to communities’ health. In my opinion, the government should ban fast food as it is harmful to not only adults’ health, which affects directly their mental health and works, but also children’s health specifically their growth and puberty, leading to some limitations in the future.
Firstly, to adults, as fast food is made quickly, it cannot serve enough energy for people’s daily activities, which affects directly their mental health and works. When they eat fast food, it does not provide enough nutrients and essentials for their vital demands, leading to fatigue, ineffective works, and even fainting. Furthermore, when people are exhausted, sometimes leading to bad mood or stress and anxiety as well. Seriously, while they eat those food, they are consuming the bad fat, which can harm our organs, such as heart, liver, and kidney, and lead to serious diseases which are challenging to treat and they may last until the end of people’s lives. As a result, fast food has negative impacts on people’s health, leading to many consequences.
Secondly, to children, it is even more harmful as fast food not only causes some health problems but also leads to malnutrition, which prevents their puberty and growth from happening successfully. While children really need a balance diet with all necessary nutrients, essentials, and vitamins to improve both their brain and strength, fast food can only provide simple carbohyrate and empty calories which contain a lot of temporary energy with only a few nutrients, easily causing malnutrition. In addition, as convenient food is oily, those oil can negatively affects children’s digest system, which may leads to stomache, digestive disorders, and even abdominal pain. Those consequences can occur in a long time. As a result, children cannot improve their body and brain completely, which may form self-deprecation.
In conclusion, although fast food has a great position in food industry and plays an important role in our hectic lives, its negative impacts outweigh its advantages, which can cause many serious consequences to both adults and children, so the government should ban convenient food and find alternatives to enhance communities’ health.
