In this modern era, there is no doubt that technology spreading very fast in this world. Some people argue that government should stop funding to the public libraries while others believe that this is not a wise idea. Even though everything is available on internet but this digital system failed to fully replace the local libraries. This essay will discuss both sides of the topic.
Nowadays, In this digital world people can easily find any kind of information on the internet. There are many platforms are available where people can easily read books, articles, magazines and newspapers. Even youngsters can take help to access their study material from the internet. Whereas, there are many benefits of the social media but there are some disadvantages are well such as, sometimes parents have no clue that what kind of content their children are using because nobody is there to stop them. Moreover, more screentime is also harmful for health and eyesight. And individuals start to become more isolated.
On the other hand, public libraries play an important role in the society. Libraries arrange many programs for different age groups, for example, toddlers have their story times and youngsters have reading programs. In the summer most of the local libraries organize summer camps as well which leads to people find more friends and their emotional well-being. And many people come as a volunteer to serve the community as a teacher or helper.
Overall, with my perspective libraries play an important role in our society. It helps all age group to be socialize and intract with each other. Even though internet is a full of information platform but there are some harmful facts as well. So government should not be stopping to support to the public libraries.
