In recent years, the space tourism has gained more popularity. Some people think that funding in space tourism can be a wasteful act, mainly because on Earth there are other pressing issues, including climate change, and poverty, while others opine that it can lead to technology advancements and would be an inspiration for future generations. I consider that investment should be made on rectifying terrestrial issues rather than space tourism, and the key reasons behind this perspective will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, on earth several people are living in slums because of inflation. They are unable to earn enough money to provide food to their families. Even many people have to spend nights without having food for many days. Therefore, in order to address poverty, the government should give more priority to build industries where work would be provided to poor people. Moreover, pollution is another concern. Nowadays, several firms has opened, leading in deteriorting the quality of air, which results in numerous health problems. Individuals have to suffer from asthma, cancer, and many more chronic diseases. Thus, due to excessive industries, people are experiencing many health-related issues. As a result, it is crucial to focus on addressing these issues instead of funding in space tourism.
However, investments which could be made on space tourism prove to beneficial for technological developments, and to motivate future generation as people can experience new areas beyond one’s imagination. They can learn about new environment. If money is spent in space tourism, scientist can made more spaces, which can be used to explore other areas of the world like Mars.
