In today’s world, we find ourselves relying more and more on virtual assistans such as Siri or Alice. Some people argue that these online tools are diminishing vital social skills in youth and adults. It is unquestionable that it has a popularity in today’s fast-paced society with developed technological creatures. However, it sometimes affects on humanbeing negatively.
To start with, I’d like to outline the advantages of using virtual assistants. One of the major benefits is that people do not need to stand up and go somewhere to do things like switch on or switch off the light. It is comfortable for people with health problems or elders, who gets tired to act. Also, these computer-based programs give needed information and useful advices such as saying weather of the day or suffer medicines when costumer is sick. For example, Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant remains the most popular online tool with 41.4 million monthly active users in the US, according to a new report.
On the other hand, there are several significant drawbacks to over-reliance on online virtual assistants. Nowadays, these programs are installed even on cars. Usually, this assistant decide our daily decisions such as what to wear or what to eat. Thus, person’s own problem-solving and decision-making abilities are decreasing day by day. This can be exemplified by statistics in 2025, where 56.2% of people, who used virtual assistant in a daily basic say that they got lazier than in the past.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that virtual assistants have overall advantages; however, over-reliance on it can affect people badly. So, I advise using it in a limited way, so it cannot begs issues.
