Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is an undeniable fact that, mobile phones changed our typical lifestyle into a more modern one. Some people believe that the overuse of this technology can lead to adverse results. While others think that it is beneficial. In this essay I will discuss and explain pros and cons of smart phones.

Firstly, In the last recent years mobile phones became crucial part of our lives. Therefore, it expanded the range of employment opportunities by offering a wide range of mobile applications dedicated to help people find suitable jobs. Secondly, mobile phones are considered very useful tools to enlighten users’ minds. As a result, it offers a vast amount of varied information that all can be used for communication and sending or receiving data. For example, a recent study conducted by Cambridge university revealed that 95% of mobile phone users in the US use their phones to read daily newspapers and social media platforms to communicate with their friends and relatives.

On the contrary, some disadvantages concerns rise as smart phones can be addictive. Thus, people might tend to spend long hours staring at their phone screens unconsciously. As a result, wasting time, energy and even damaging their mental or physical health. Furthermore, virtual world social interaction is far more different than traditional face-to-face communication. That’s because it’s much easier to chat with friends via instant messaging or video chat apps. Consequently, that will introduce psychological problems and illnesses, such as social phobia and depression. For instance, a medical research paper that was published online concluded, that 60% of psychological and mental issues are caused by the excessive use of smart phones.

On balance, there are both negatives and positives regarding the usage of smart phones. However, after expanding both views, it has become evident that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
