There is a growing public opinion that head of corporations should consist of older people, whereas others hold the view that new generations are more suitable for high positions. I partially agree with the latter opinion because younger people have more understanding about the rules of the modern job market and they are more open to novelty; however, older individuals’ experiences can make them suitable candidates for leadership.
The most important consideration is the fact that new generations are more familiar with demands of contemporary society. This is because they are a part of the technology era, which makes it easy for them to keep up with the new world. In addition to this, since they tend to be more creative, they overcome challenges with innovative approaches rather than outdated solutions. As a result, companies are always open to the idea of bringing new blood to the collective as youngsters are not afraid of taking action. For instance, recent statistics indicates that creative young adults have
Furthermore, younger leaders adapt novelty easily instead of sticking to traditional ways. The main reason for believing this is the fact that progressive nature of young individuals enables them to adapt to recent trends of the time. In other words, they do not hold prejudice against unfamiliarity and are always seeking opportunities for development, which makes them perfect candidates for today’s competitive society. To illustrate, stories in the media highlighted that corporations that follow the latest trends of the contemporary world, such as renewable energy strategies, mostly have young CEOs.
On the other hand, some parts of society argue that having an older individual as a leader is more beneficial. People often have this opinion because seniors can make wiser decisions due to their experience. In other words, as they faced many challenges throughout their long careers, they gained deep knowledge about their profession and developed their leadership skills. Additionally, senior managers are more mature compared to their young companions, which allows them to remain calm during crisis.
In conclusion, although older supervisors tend to act wisely thanks to their experience, I believe that young managers can play an essential role in modernizing organizations with their innovative ideas and adaptability.
