The two maps provide a compelling contrast between the current state of the Norbiton industrial area and its envisioned future development. Presently, the eastern flank of the town boasts a cluster of factories neatly lined along the primary thoroughfare, with a serene river flowing to the north, demarcating the factories from the verdant farmland at the northernmost extremity.
Looking ahead to the future blueprint, a significant transformation is envisioned. Notably, factories have vanished from the landscape, replaced by seven residential complexes, indicative of a shift towards residential development. Furthermore, a secondary, smaller ring road is scheduled for construction south of the existing one, enhancing connectivity and fostering a more integrated transport network.
A strategic bridge is planned for the northern sector of the map, designed to traverse the river and facilitate seamless access to the upcoming housing developments situated within the transformed farmland. This underscores the commitment to fostering accessibility and interconnectivity.
Moreover, the future development incorporates novel infrastructural elements that are currently absent. The school, positioned eastward of the map, nestled between the river and the southernmost road, underscores the importance of education in the community’s future. The playground, situated beneath the river and to the north of the eastern arm of the circular road, offers recreational opportunities for residents. Additionally, a store and a medical center will be strategically located between the original and new ring roads, ensuring convenient access to essential services.
