The two maps illustrate an industrial area of the Norbiton town now and how it is planned to be developed in the future.

Overall, the most significant transformation will be the removal of all the existing factories and the addition of housing structures instead of it.

Currently there is a river on the north of the site and a straight road on the south. The town is in the west, while farmland is located in the north across the river. At the heart of the town is a road ring, which is branching off from the main road, and is surrounded by three factories. Another five factories are on the road that leads to the east side from the traffic circle.

In the coming years, the factories will be replaced with residential buildings and other facilities – a school, a playground, shops, and a medical centre. The roads to the west and north are planned to be built, leading from the road ring. The north road will cross the river, leading to a new residential area. The farmland will be moved to the east side.
