It is sometimes argued that TV, newspapers, and magazines focus too much on the lives of well-known people such as actors and singers. Many believe that more attention should be given to ordinary people’s lives instead. In my opinion, I completely disagree with the idea that celebrities should dominate media coverage and agree that the media should focus more on everyday individuals. I will explain my views in this essay.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why the media pays so much attention to celebrities. First, the lives of famous people are a major interest for many audiences today. People often follow celebrities to stay updated on trends and emulate their lifestyles to gain social recognition. Second, celebrities are admired not only for their success but also for their physical attractiveness. For example, PewDiePie, a successful YouTuber, is not only accomplished but also widely considered handsome.
On the other hand, I believe that more attention should be given to ordinary people. First, many individuals have fascinating life stories that deserve recognition, such as teachers who help their students achieve success or doctors who save lives. Second, excessive focus on celebrity lifestyles may give some people the false impression that success and fame are easy to achieve, leading them to neglect important things like education and hard work.
In conclusion, while it is acceptable to show how celebrities live, media coverage should be limited to a level that inspires people. The focus should shift more toward the lives and achievements of ordinary individuals.
