The decision when choosing any career or work should be based on a high income. Personally, I disagree with this statement and the following essay will support my viewpoint.
Firstly, there are a number of reasons why job satisfaction is crucial. It plays a huge role in the mental health of people and if a work is chosen only because of a high income, a person can suffer from serious mental health disorders. At the workplace individuals spend a majority of their time and aspects like friendly colleagues, personal interest, and comfortable conditions should be prioritised when choosing a job. Due to the complete dissatisfaction in career, individuals are suffering from depression, apathy, and other illnesses, as they receive negative emotions on daily bases. Hence, the well-being of a person outweighs a high salary.
Secondly, employees who chose work only because of high income may not succeed as those whose considerations were based on personal predispositions. To match employers needs and be an efficient worker a person needs to be engaged in the process. Although a high salary can motivate workers to do their best, in most cases people who are not interested in their own profession demonstrate poorer results. Apparently, it would not be beneficial for everyone. For example, society would complain about poor services, as well as employers would receive dissatisfactory results, which impacts their annual income. Moreover, in future these employees can be laid off, as they mismatch employers needs. Thus, a high salary does not mean success in a job.
In conclusion, I believe that people who choose work due to the higher salary are more likely to suffer from mental disorders and are unwilling to show positive results.
