Some people argue that the only way to decrease the amount of traffic in cities is by decreasing the need for people who are using vehicles to go to from home for work, education or shopping.
I totally agree with this opinion. If the government and the municipalities work together this issue can be solved easily by them. For instance, the government can fund some highway, subway and public transportation projects, and municipalities increase the amount of subway and bus. Furthermore, municipalities use minibuses to reduce traffic jam in cities. For instance, in Ankara, which is the capital city of Turkey, minibuses are use by locals. Because the number of minibuses is more than buses, and these vehicles can stop everywhere, while buses can just stop the bus stations. So, a great deal of people must walk these stations. If the minibuses project is supported by municipalities, traffic jams are going to go down.
The other solution for this issue is remote education and working for students and working people, respectively. The National education ministry can make some changes about face-to-face education by using technology, and they can decrease the number of the face-to-face lessons even students do not have to come to their schools. If the students do not have to leave their home for some days which are traffic jam more intensive, traffic jams will be decreased by using this education style. Also, this method can be used for employees who are doing their job on the computer. Additionally, consumers can use mobile applications for shopping. So, they can buy everything without leaving their home. These applications, also reduce the amount of traffic in cities.
To conclude, the only way to reduce the amount of traffic in cities is to reduce the number of people who are students, employees, and consumers. We can reduce the number of these people by using these methods.
