This pie chart illustrates the proportion of money spent and received by an American children’s charity in 2016. The units are measured in %.
Overall, the total revenues and expenditures are almost the same which are around $53 millions. The main source of revenue is donated food, whilst expenditure’s is program services.
Take a closer look at revenue sources. As I mentioned above, donated food accounted for over three quarter of the total proportion, which is 86.6%. The second largest proportion of income is community contributions, 10.4% and the third is program revenue, 2.2%. The remaining percentage are divided into 3 aspects (investment income, government grants, and other income), and all of them are below 3%.
when it comes to expenditures, they spent most on program services, 95.8%. There are still 2 categories they spend on, fundraising and management and general. The percentage they accounted for are 2.6% and 1.6% respectively.
