Band 5+: The plans below show the site of a High School in 2004 and in 2006, after it went through an expansion. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two maps show how the layout of a High School changed after an expansion intervention.

First of all, it is clear that most of the initial layout remained unchanged: in both of the maps the school is in between the gym and the yard, directly connected to the bus station through a corridor. While in the oldest map the corridor is located between the two car parks, in the most recent map, only the one located at the right hand of the corridor has been maintained and enlarged in dimensions. The Car park at the left of the corridor has been replaced by a smaller bike rental, in order to obtain some additional space for a passage to the train station.

In Addition, another gym has been added under the pre-existing one, at the left of the school, while on the right end, a small library has been located in the Yard.

As a consequence of this, it is clear that each room is larger, so in conclusion, after the expansion, the space is used in a more useful way.
