Band 5+: The population of most cities is growing as people are going in cities to find more work and new opportunities leading to overpopulation What problem can overpopulation cause? how can be this solved?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Human beings are social animals. To enhance their standard of living many are moving to cities in search of new work opportunities leading to dire effects such as overpopulation. In this essay, I will outline the main problems overpopulation leads to and provide a certain an effective solution.

Many people from rural areas migrate to urban cities for work opportunities. However, this leads to a problem which is overpopulation. Firstly, due to overpopulation particularly the environment gets affected atrociously. Many people live in small places leading to congestion and aggravated pollution release. For instance, many people from villages in Bihar migrates to its capital Patna which consequently leads to overpopulation and as a result Patna is now in the topmost list of most polluted cities in the world with an average air quality index of 350. A further consideration for overpopulation is that it exacerbates social differences in aboriginal such as racism, bullying etc. Not only a certain caste or religion is affected but also the region is affected ultimately leading to riots, fights etc. Therefore, it affects the mindset of the people in negative way.

Nevertheless, despite its concerning problems there are few solutions to tackle such situations. Particularly the reason for migration is in search of work and facilities. Even though government has set many infrastructures in the rural areas it is still not enough to fulfil the requirements of the community as the population continues to increase at a gigantic rate. However, the government can ameliorate opportunities such as work in agriculture sector, proper education facilities as compared to before so people would not leave their places in search of work or better facilities and remain at their homeland. As a result, the population problem in the cities will decrease at a great extent ultimately leading to reduced pollution. Another solution could be certain restrictions should be imposed for migration. This would lead to a smaller number of people advancing in the cities, even though if a person is allowed, he/she may state their purpose and the period of their stay. To illustrate Usa, made visas for their countries extremely difficult to get as their country was heavily suffering due to migrants. As a result, there are few migrants now living in USA.

In conclusion, over-population has many demerits, and this could be only solved with the help of the government and their right governance. If not treated properly many will be affected badly.
