It is argued that taking proactive steps to encourage a healthy lifestyle is more crucial than investing in reactive medical procedures. I believe that more emphasis should be placed on developing infrastructures and policies that promote preventive measures rather than funding expensive machineries and medicines.
Most of the health problems that occur in people these days are conditions that could have been easily avoided by following proper daily routine and healthy diet .For example, cancer is a disease that is extremely expensive to treat but if people were conscious early in their life by living healthy and performing regular health check-ups, it could have been easily prevented. Also, there are preventative pills these days like Polio, Azzurus and Measles that inject immunity in children and youth against future diagnosis. Government should spend more on making these more readily available and raising awareness.
Another reason to be more proactive in terms of spending is the actual budget and it’s spread over a period of time. It is more economical because being proactive means developing plans, policies and programs for the long term rather than a one-time emergency expenditure. It helps to plan more effectively and is more sustainable financially too .For example, spending millions of dollars in buying expensive medical devices and tools instantly depletes the cash reserves of the country.
However, some people believe that not all conditions are maybe inevitable and there should not be a situation where there is simply no room for treatment at all. For instance, physical injury, genetic disorders and pandemics are situations beyond prediction. It is crucial that we do not overlook treatment of short-term problems before addressing the future.
In conclusion, Government should prioritise allocating more funds towards research, public awareness and availability of preventative services while not contemplating maintaining a standard level of infrastructure for treatment and diagnosis of existing conditions. Give feedback and band score
