In recent years, the development of remote work technology has reduced the need for employees to visit the work offices and has created opportunity for improving a work-life balance. Although, there are several negative sides of this change , I strongly believe that the advantages of this technologycal progress outweight the drawbacks.
One major advantage is the ability to hire employees from different countries without their relocation. This approach is beneficial not only for employers, but also for employees, due to they will not have to leave their families or change their environment to enter a better job. Another positive reason of remote work, is that employees will have much time for their families or leisure, rather than spending it to commute to work. Additionaly, there will not be a need to rent and maintain huge offices, which is another benefit for employers.
However, there are several drawbacks of remote work tendency. First and the most noticable one, is the lack of face-to-face communication between people. This can lead to problems with socializing as people get used to spend most of their time at home. Furthermore, even though technologies allow us to communicate with people all over the world through chats or audio calls, they still do not provide the sense of real conversation, as you can not see the real emotions of the person you are talking with .
In conclusion, although, drawbacks such as lack of real-life communication and socializing issuies may occure due to widespread of remote work, I reckon that opportunity to spent more time on leisure and to have better work-life balance outweight the disadvantages.
