The rise of remote working has transformed traditional office environments. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this shift?
In recent years, there are some people choosing remote working as an option to replace traditional offices . There are both advantages and disadvantages of this shift, while I consider this as a permanent phenomenon.
The opponents of this shift may have some arguments. One of those must be the drawbacks associated with discipline and behavior. To be more specific, because of working from home, people do not adopt the special timetable offered by companies and organisations. Consequently, this freedom can lead to laziness of employees. Furthermore, the weak bonds of those employees can appear, which makes them less motivated in working, reducing enthusiasm. However, discipline problems are not likely to appear, particularly in recent years, discipline is added as a significant part in education. Thus, this issue is not significant. Moreover, not communicating in the office does not always directly lead to weak bonds between employees in the company. Organisations can launch some picnic and team building to solve this problem easily.
On the other hand, I maintain my opinion that this shift may bring some positive impacts. Perhaps one of those is that individuals working remotely can escape from some problems associated with traffic. To clarify, there is more and more migration from the suburbs to cities, which makes the population have rocketed in recent years. This phenomenon not only makes some traffic problems become more serious, but also heightens the crime rate in big cities. So working from home allows employees to escape from several traffic issues and some troubles associated with crimes such as robbing and thief.
In conclusion, although there are some drawbacks of remote working associated with discipline or weak bonding in companies, I keep my claim that those problems can be solved easily by education and action from directors. Additionally, there are some traffic and crime problems that individuals can escape because of working from home.
