It is argued that with the increase in globalization and the spread of multinational companies, there is a positive impact on everyone’s life. I firmly believe that this is a negative trend.
As far as economy is concerned, globalization has a negative impact on people’s lives. To be precise, with the spread of international companies, the local economy would be negatively influenced especially in developing countries. For instance, with the importation of productions from multinational companies, it will reducing the market share of domestic companies and even lead to small company going bankrupt because the productions from international companies tend to be cheap and high quality. Although people in developed countries or international companies could enjoy the benefit of globalization, people in other regions suffer a lot.
Furthermore, the spread of multinational companies will lead to environmental issues. Many developed countries transform some high- pollution industries, such as mineral and chemistry, to developing country with undemanding laws on environment protecting. Such companies will cause problems on air pollution and water pollution which will have a negative impact on citizens’ life quality and health.
Nevertheless, some argues that since the globalization will boost cultural diversity, it is a positive trend. Some international companies will bring productions, such as movies, festival and food, into other countries. However, we can not ignore the potential risks it brings as it will lead to cultural homogenization and lose of identity. For example, in china, the young generations gradually do not celebrate traditional festivals and even forget the resource of them. Otherwise, they have a party Christmas day. This phenomenon has rose some worries about losing identity.
In conclusion, i firmly believe that the increase of globalization and spread of multinational companies negatively influence people’ lives, especially in developing countries, as it will harm local economy and lead to culture homogenization, environment problems.
